Cristina Nicolae is Senior lecturer, PhD at G.E.Palade UMPhST of Targu Mures, Romania, where she teaches British and American literature (special emphasis on the architecture of identity), translation studies (with a focus on AVT), and communication techniques. She holds a BA in English and Romanian Language and Literature, an MA in Anglo-American Studies, and a PhD in Philology (Magna cum laude). She has co-edited several volumes and has published articles, reviews, book chapters on her areas of interest and research, to which she adds two translated novels (one pending publication). She is a member of several national and international professional associations (Romanian as well as English literary and translation studies: ARTLIT / CEATL, ESIST, ESSE / RSEAS, EAAS / RAAS) and has been a team member in several national and international projects. She is a TED language supervisor/manager for the Romanian language, institutional coordinator for an academic terminology collaboration with DG TRAD-TermCoord of the European Parliament, organizer of a national translation contest (dedicated to university students) and over 50 academic workshops.
