Joakim Wrethed, born in 1968 and living in Stockholm. He is assistant professor [Docent] at the English Department, Stockholm University. Within literary studies he has done work in the areas phenomenology, postmodernism, aesthetics and theology. He has published extensively on John Banville. Some of the more recent publications have been on Irish Literature as World Literature (on Banville, Joyce, Yeats and Beckett), The Postmodern Gothic, The Irish Gothic in Charles Maturin, John Williams, and Tom McCarthy.
