Leire Bilbao (Ondarroa, Bizkaia, 1978) has a degree in Economic Law from the University of Deusto. In 2006 she published her collection of poems “Ezkatak”, in 2011 “Scanner”, in 2018 the bilingual collection of poems “Entre escamas” and in 2020 “Etxeko urak”. Her work for adults has been translated into several languages, is part of various anthologies and some of her compositions have been set to music. Likewise, she has published numerous books for children. She received the 2017 Euskadi Prize for Literature for “Xomorropoemak”, the 2019 Kirico Prize for “Bichopoemas y otros bestias” and the 2021 Lauaxeta Prize for “Etxeko Urak”.
