Marija Girevska is a translator and a writer. She received her PhD from the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje, Macedonia (2015) and her second MA in Theology (Old Testament in Joyce’s ‘Ulysses’, 2018) from the Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Skopje where she teaches. She has published three monographs in Macedonian on English Surrealism (2015), Gothic fiction (2017) and Joyce (2019). She was awarded Golden Pen Award for her translation of James Joyce’s Ulysses in 2013. As a Joyce scholar she has read at James Joyce symposia and at the Trieste Joyce school. She is editing a collection on Joyce translations, Ulysses Across Languages: Portals of Discovery (A Centenary of Translations), which is to be published in 2022 in commemoration of the centenary of Ulysses.
