Shlomi Efrati got his BA and MA degrees at the department of Talmud and Halakhah in the Hebrew University. For his postdoctoral project he  joined the Scripta Qumranica Electronica project in 2019, preparing a new edition of the Qumran wisdom composition Instruction. From 2020 he participates in the ERC project ‘TEXTEVOLVE’ for the study of manuscripts of Targum (Jewish Aramaic translations of the Bible) at KU Leuven, where he focuses on the textual tradition of Onqelos and its relation to other Targums to the Pentateuch. Since 2021 he takes part in the preparation of a new edition of the Aramaic writings from Qumran, directed by Prof. Elisha Qimron and Christian Stadel of Ben Gurion University of the Negev. He has participated in the  project “Unknown traditions of the Babylonian Talmud preserved in the Cairo Genizah” (Hebrew University) and collaborates with Prof. Michael Stone on the study of Armenian biblical exegesis and retellings. His research interests include rabbinic literature, pseudepigrapha and Qumran writings, textual criticism, and the development and evolution of traditions in various Jewish and Christian literatures of Late Antiquity.
